Miloslav Stibor werd geboren in Olomouc, waar hij in 1946 afstudeerde aan de Bedrijfskundeacademie en van 1947 tot 1951 studeerde aan de afdeling Kunstonderwijs van de Palacký Universiteit. In 1952 promoveerde hij in de kunstgeschiedenis. Hij werkte als hoogleraar aan het gymnasium in Olomouc en was directeur van de kunstafdeling van de Volkskunstacademie, waar hij meewerkte aan de introductie van fotografie als zelfstandig vakgebied. Hij is de auteur van het eerste fotografiehandboek voor volkskunstacademies. Hij was docent en lid van vele internationale fotografiejury’s. Naast foto’s met als thema stenen en sculpturen, verzameld in de uitgebreide collectie Steen, richt hij zich voornamelijk op figuratieve fotografie, zoals gestileerde studies van vrouwenhoofden met studiolicht en foto’s van monumenten uit historische cultuurperiodes. Hij heeft tientallen landen bezocht en een aantal gespecialiseerde tentoonstellingen gehouden, voornamelijk in het buitenland. Hij is houder van de internationale titel MFIAP. Er zijn veel studies en reproducties van zijn foto’s over zijn werk gepubliceerd. Hij is ereburger van Nový Hrozenkov, zijn tweede thuis, waarover hij een aantal publicaties en ansichtkaartenseries heeft gepubliceerd. Hij is tevens de auteur van het embleem en de banier van de gemeente.

Miloslav Stibor was born in Olomouc, where he graduated from the Business School in 1946 and studied at the Art Education Department of Palacký University from 1947 to 1951. In 1952 he received his doctorate in art history. He worked as a professor at the Olomouc grammar school and was the director of the Art Department of the Folk Art Academy, where he helped introduce photography as an independent field of study. He is the author of the first photography manual for folk art academies. He was a lecturer and member of many international photography juries. In addition to photographs on the theme of stones and sculptures, collected in the extensive Stone Collection, he focuses mainly on figurative photography, such as stylized studies of women’s heads with studio lighting and photographs of monuments from historical cultural periods. He has visited dozens of countries and held a number of specialized exhibitions, mainly abroad. He holds the international title MFIAP. Many studies and reproductions of his photographs have been published about his work. He is an honorary citizen of Nový Hrozenkov, his second home, about which he has published a number of publications and series of postcards. He is also the author of the emblem and banner of the municipality.
