Short biography

The style of Natalia Simonenko’s paintings can best be described as a mixture of modern interpreted impressionism and realism.
Intense, emotional colors and the representation of light and air lay the foundation for special moods. The works of the Russian artist, who commutes between Saint Petersburg and Stuttgart, have received international recognition and have already been exhibited in Moscow, Los Angeles, Paris and London, among others.
Natalia Simonenko, who completed her training at the renowned Ilya Repin art school in St. Petersburg, gives us a comprehensive insight into her works, whose roots lie in classical painting.
Independent of the fashions of the art market, Natalia Simonenko professes a realism that has the characteristics of the light and air painting of Impressionism. Although she partly pushes the boundaries of abstraction in some of her paintings, she finds it necessary to also introduce realistic elements into the image. My goal, she explains, is to create an intense pictorial atmosphere with a mixture of realistic genre painting and impressionistic painting techniques.

Korte biografie
