Guy Hamelin, a multidisciplinary artist, was born in Montreal Canada in the heart of the Rosemont district.
He practices several disciplines including painting, assembly, photography and video art.
His works can be found mainly in Canada and the United States.
He is self-taught.
Being from a broken family, he had to survive and act like an adult from the age of 11.
These tribulations, however, had their corollary, because it is thanks to this life
experience that he developed his curiosity, his versatility and his autonomy.
Intuition is the premise of his artistic approach.
This intuitive boost allows him to connect with his surroundings. A place, materials,
tools and processes: all are conducive to inspiring creative methods to explore.
He invests a lot of time in research and creation in order to document his work and to discover the road along the way.

De multidisciplinaire kunstenaar Guy Hamelin werd geboren in Montreal, Canada, in het hart van de wijk Rosemont.
Hij beoefent verschillende disciplines, waaronder schilderen, assemblage, fotografie en videokunst.
Zijn werken zijn voornamelijk te vinden in Canada en de Verenigde Staten.
Hij is autodidact.
Omdat hij uit een gebroken gezin kwam, moest hij vanaf zijn elfde overleven en zich als een volwassene gedragen.
Deze beproevingen hadden echter hun gevolg, want het is te danken aan deze levenservaring dat hij zijn nieuwsgierigheid, zijn veelzijdigheid en zijn autonomie ontwikkelde.
