Otten’s werk bestaat voornamelijk uit abstracte schilderijen in de meest uiteenlopende disciplines. Kunstuitingen gebaseerd op passie en vrijheid om te experimenteren met verschillende technieken en materialen. De kunstenaar werkt zowel met acryl als olieverf of biologisch pigment. Het creatieve proces begint met een blanco doek of paneel waarbij gaande weg, al experimenterend, het idee vorm krijgt. Het menselijk aspect intrigeert Otten en je zult ook veelvuldig gezichten terugzien in zijn werk. Daarnaast maakt hij ook geabstraheerde landschappen of andere abstracte impressies.
