Geert Vrijdag deed zijn opleiding aan de Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten te Tilburg en de Academie voor Industriële Vormgeving te Eindhoven. Hij schilderde uitsluitend abstract werk vanuit een meditatieve grondhouding, zonder vooropgezet idee of beeld en zonder bedachte plannen. “Vanuit de stilte van het witte vlak komen we in contact met beweging, kleur en vorm”.
Zijn werk is te vinden in privé collecties en in die van bedrijven en instellingen.
Sinds 1988 heeft hij diverse malen geëxposeerd door heel Nederland en was zijn werk te zien op de European Fine Art Fair (Tefaf) in Maastricht.
Na zijn dood in 1999 werd naast zijn woonhuis een galerie ingericht waar zijn werk wordt getoond.

Geert Vrijdag studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Tilburg and the Academy of Industrial Design in Eindhoven. He painted exclusively abstract work from a meditative attitude, without preconceived ideas or images and without preconceived plans. “From the silence of the white surface we come into contact with movement, colour and form”.
His work can be found in private collections and in those of companies and institutions.
Since 1988 he has exhibited several times throughout the Netherlands and his work was on display at the European Fine Art Fair (Tefaf) in Maastricht.
After his death in 1999, a gallery was set up next to his home where his work is shown.
