Marinus H. Dijkema was een Nederlandse fotograaf en kunstschilder die zijn hele loopbaan in zijn geboortestad Groningen doorbracht. Uit de registratie in de Groninger Kunstenaars documentatie en de Wikidata-lijst van Nederlandse fotografen blijkt dat hij als beeldend kunstenaar actief was in de jaren zeventig en begin jaren tachtig van de twintigste eeuw. Zijn oeuvre omvat zowel fotografie als schilderkunst, waarbij hij zich binnen het Groningse kunstenaarsmilieu profileerde. Dijkema overleed in 1984, op 42-jarige leeftijd. Vanwege zijn vroege overlijden en het beperkte aantal gedocumenteerde exposities of publicaties is zijn werk minder bekend geworden dan dat van sommige tijdgenoten. Zijn naam wordt echter nog vermeld in overzichtswerken over Nederlandse fotografen en Groningse kunstenaars, mede vanwege de auteursrechtelijke status van zijn werk.

Marinus H. Dijkema was a Dutch photographer and painter who spent his entire career in his native city of Groningen. Registration in the Groninger Kunstenaarsdocumenten and the Wikidata list of Dutch photographers show that he was active as a visual artist in the 1970s and early 1980s. His oeuvre encompasses both photography and painting, through which he distinguished himself within the Groningen art scene. Dijkema died in 1984 at the age of 42. Due to his early death and the limited number of documented exhibitions or publications, his work has become less well known than that of some contemporaries. However, his name is still mentioned in overviews of Dutch photographers and Groningen artists, partly due to the copyright status of his work.
