Sonja Johanna Oudendijk is een Nederlandse beeldhouwster en installatiekunstenaar die sinds haar opleiding in Amsterdam woont en werkt. Zij volgde de lerarenopleiding d’Witte Lelie (1976–1982) en de Gerrit Rietveld Academie (1981–1983) in Amsterdam en verbleef later als gastkunstenaar bij P.S.1 in New York (1988–1989). Al vroeg was Oudendijk betrokken bij het alternatieve galeriecircuit; zij hielp in 1982 galerie Aorta opzetten in het voormalige NRC-complex aan de Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal. Sinds 1983 maakt ze beelden en installaties waarin ze bewust contrasterende materialen combineert, vaak geïnspireerd door reizen in het buitenland. Haar werk werd getoond in onder meer Arti et Amicitiae, het Gemeentemuseum Arnhem, Museum De Lakenhal en op internationale podia zoals de Biënnale van Sydney en Istanboel. In 1992 ontving zij de Charlotte Köhler Prijs.

Sonja Johanna Oudendijk is a Dutch sculptor and installation artist who has lived and worked in Amsterdam since her education. She attended the d’Witte Lelie teacher training college (1976–1982) and the Gerrit Rietveld Academie (1981–1983) in Amsterdam, and later resided as a guest artist at P.S.1 in New York (1988–1989). From an early age, Oudendijk was involved in the alternative gallery circuit; in 1982, she helped establish gallery Aorta in the former NRC complex on Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal. Since 1983, she has been creating sculptures and installations in which she deliberately combines contrasting materials, often inspired by travels abroad. Her work has been shown at Arti et Amicitiae, the Gemeentemuseum Arnhem, Museum De Lakenhal, among others, and on international stages such as the Sydney and Istanbul Biennales. In 1992, she received the Charlotte Köhler Prize.
