Tomáš Bím is een Tsjechisch kunstschilder, graficus en illustrator. Hij volgde een opleiding tot boekdrukker aan de Odborné polygrafické učiliště (Vakopleiding voor Grafische Techniek) in Praag. In de jaren tachtig verbleef hij in Duitsland, waar hij in 1984–1985 als gaststipendiaat van Kunstverein Osnabrück zijn praktijk verder ontwikkelde. Sinds 1976 toont Bím zijn werk in solotentoonstellingen; zijn grafiek, exlibris en illustraties zijn in talloze collecties in Tsjechië en daarbuiten opgenomen. Hij werkt vanuit Lety bij Praag en runt sinds 2011 een galerie in Dobřichovice. Zijn veelzijdige oeuvre wordt gekenmerkt door een verfijnde lijnvoering en een sterk narratief gehalte, waarbij boekillustratie en autonome grafiek elkaar versterken.

Tomáš Bím is a Czech painter, printmaker, and illustrator. He trained as a book printer at the Odborné polygrafické učiliště (Vocational School for Graphic Techniques) in Prague. In the 1980s, he lived in Germany, where he further developed his practice in 1984–1985 as a guest scholarship recipient of Kunstverein Osnabrück. Since 1976, Bím has shown his work in solo exhibitions; his prints, ex libris, and illustrations are included in countless collections in the Czech Republic and abroad. He works from Lety near Prague and has run a gallery in Dobřichovice since 2011. His versatile oeuvre is characterized by refined linework and a strong narrative quality, in which book illustration and autonomous printmaking reinforce each other.
