Guy Hamelin has been exploring artistic composition for over 12
years. Photographer by trade, he was first asked to photograph the
works of other painters. His contact with both the paintings and
their creators made him want to touch the materials and play with
the pigments. One day, lying on a park bench, he had a vision—
he was gripped by vibratory images of rippling circles and
exploding colours. This was enough to launch Hamelin into an
exploration, both physical and chemical, of mixtures,
colours, expansions, blends and vibrations.
He learned to coexist with the laws of physics in order
to bring his ideas to life.
“I like to mix art and physics, to explore freely, explore, and push
my limits… My creations are deeply introspective, and are
inspired by spontaneous insights, vibrations,
colours and especially the circle. When I touch the subject,
I find myself in a meditative state where I let light,
memories and healing energy transpose itself onto my canvas.”
At the very heart of his artistic creation lies a desire to create
harmony through shapes and colours from different spiritual
belief systems—chakras, prana, aura, meditation, and healing
and harmonizing colours. Each work embodies the very
essence of these vibratory energies.
Nicknamed “The Ripple Effect”, the intense movement
that brings Hamelin’s works to life resembles the ripples
made by a stone thrown into water, and echoes the water in
the human body, a source of both life and vital energy.
For Hamelin, this artistic connection with the infinite
power of the circle is only a premise of a great adventure.
He sees himself travelling the world, meeting new
cultures, and drawing inspiration from the largest
temples and their rituals, pushing his
exploration of vital energy even further.
Guy Hamelin onderzoekt al meer dan 12 jaar artistieke composities
Hij werd als fotograaf gevraagd om de kunstwerken van andere schilders te fotograferen.
Zijn contact met zowel de schilderijen als hun makers zorgde ervoor dat hij de materialen wilde aanraken en spelen met de pigmenten.
Op een dag, liggend op een bankje in het park, had hij een visioen –
hij werd gegrepen door trillende beelden van kabbelende cirkels en
exploderende kleuren. Dit was genoeg om Hamelin in een
verkenning, zowel fysisch als chemisch, kleuren, uitbreidingen,
mengsels en trillingen. Hij leerde samenleven met de wetten van de
natuurkunde om zijn ideeën te realiseren.
“Ik mix graag kunst en natuurkunde, om vrij te verkennen en
mijn grenzen te verleggen. Mijn creaties zijn diep introspectief en
worden geïnspireerd door spontane inzichten, vibraties,
kleuren en vooral cirkels. Als ik het onderwerp aanraak,
bevind ik me in een meditatieve staat waar ik licht,
herinneringen en helende energie op mijn doek laat transponeren.”
De kern van zijn artistieke creatie ligt in het verlangen om harmonie
te creëren door middel van vormen en kleuren uit verschillende
spirituele geloofssystemen – chakra’s, prana, aura, meditatie,
en helende en harmoniserende kleuren. Elk werk belichaamt
de essentie van trillende energieën. Bijgenaamd “The Ripple Effect”,
de intense beweging die Hamelin’s werken tot stand brengt
het leven lijkt op de rimpelingen die worden veroorzaakt
door een steen die in het water wordt gegooid
en de weerkaatsing erin van het water, het menselijk lichaam,
een bron van zowel leven als vitale energie.
Voor Hamelin is deze artistieke verbinding met de oneindige
kracht van de cirkel slechts een uitgangspunt van een groot
avontuur. Hij ziet zichzelf de wereld rondreizen en nieuwe mensen
in andere culturen ontmoeten en inspiratie putten
uit de grootste tempels en hun rituelen.
