Short biography

Art with a message
As an artist, I am committed to creating awareness about the importance of sustainability. I believe that art has the power to inspire people and encourage change. My choice to create works of art with natural materials is in line with the idea of sustainability and respect for our planet.
My works offer room for interpretation and give the viewer space to think about how they can contribute to a more sustainable future. After all, sustainability is not only a responsibility of individuals, but also requires a collective effort.
From an early age I have admired nature and the earth, but the influence of my many years of living in China and South East Asia, where I saw with my own eyes the enormous damage caused by humans, has made me concerned.
In my Earth series I create works of art on linen canvas with a lot of structure made of glass, sand, (natural) stones and paper. These materials represent the elements of the earth and should give the viewer the feeling of what one experiences in nature.

Korte biografie

Kunst met een boodschap
Als kunstenaar zet ik mij in om bewustwording te creëren rondom het belang van duurzaamheid. Ik geloof erin dat kunst de kracht heeft om mensen te inspireren en aan te zetten tot verandering. Mijn keuze om kunstwerken te maken met natuurlijke materialen sluit aan bij het idee van duurzaamheid en respect voor onze planeet.
Mijn werken bieden ruimte voor interpretatie en geeft de kijker de ruimte na te denken over hoe zij kunnen bijdragen aan een duurzamere toekomst. Duurzaamheid is immers niet alleen een verantwoordelijkheid van individuen, maar vereist ook een collectieve inspanning.
Van jongs af aan bewonder ik de natuur en aarde maar de invloed van de vele jaren verblijf in China en Zuid Oost Azië, waar ik met eigen ogen de enorme schade zag die de mens aanricht, hebben mij bezorgd gemaakt.
In mijn serie Earth maak ik kunstwerken op linnen doek met veel structuur gemaakt van glas, zand, (natuur)stenen en papier. Deze materialen verbeelden de elementen van de aarde en moeten de kijker het gevoel geven wat men ervaart in de natuur.
